Lyrics:
We've been here too long tryin' to get along
Pretending that you're oh so shy
I'm a natural man doin' all I can
My temp'rature is runnin' high
Friday night no one in sight and we got so much to share
Talkin's fine if you got the time, I ain't got the time to spare
Do you wanna touch? - Yeah! Do you wanna touch? - Yeah!
Do you wanna touch me there? Yeah!
Do you wanna touch? - Yeah! Do you wanna touch? - Yeah!
Do you wanna touch me there? Where? There! Yeah! Oh!
Yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Mymymymymy!
Yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!
Ev'ry growin' boy needs a little joy, all you do is sit an' stare
Beggin' on my knees, baby won't you please
Run your fingers thru' my hair
My my my whisky & rye, don't it make you feel so fine?
Right or wrong, don't it turn you on
Can't you see we're wastin' time?
Do you wanna touch? - Yeah! Do you wanna touch? - Yeah!
Do you wanna touch me there? Yeah!
Do you wanna touch? - Yeah! Do you wanna touch? - Yeah!
Do you wanna touch me there? Where? There! Yeah! Oh!
Yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! There there there boah!
Yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Ow
Yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! ....
Every growing boy needs a little joy -
Beggin' on my knees, baby if you please -
Every growing boy needs a little toy -
I'm a natural man doin' all I can -
Every Friday night I got to get my share -
I'm waiting so long oh - ....

I'm really excited about this song, but considering Gary Glitter is a total pedobear, I prefer to think of the Joan Jett version. GPal is singing it so it will probably be in the style of Joan Jett anyway. Holly Holiday will probably sings this with the kids in Sex Ed. Yay for inappropriateness!

I really don't like think too much about the original artist's personal life when I listen to a song. If I find out they are a shitty human being, and let's face it a lot of artists are, it has a tendency of changing my whole perception of the music. I think I underestimated the perversion factor attached to this song because Gary Glitter wrote it. I honestly didn't even know he was the original artist until recently. I've only known the Joan Jett version for years.
It's like how I can't even watch Mel Gibson movies anymore because I hate the guy.

The facebook blurb said - Holly is covering Joan Jett.
I can't wait to hear this! I've been waiting a while to hear a Joan Jett song done properly on Glee. This will be cool and exciting! Anyone heard a preview? I'd love to give it a listen?

Can someone please explain to me why GP has to sing practically every song when she's in an episode?
I mean her voice is mediocre at best, she's a guest star who's been in just 2 episodes and already has more solos than some of the regular cast members this season.
It makes no sense.

At first I was like bleh coz I found the vocals a bit weak. But the performance totally saves this song coz everyones rocking out and stuff

I think everyone is just going to pretend the orginal was by Joan Jett. That's fine with me, but who gets the royalties?

all royalties are split between the writers of the song (gary glitter and mike leander) and their publishing companies. nothing goes to joan jett because her sound recording was not used.
everyones pretty up in arms these past few days about gary glitter benefiting from this, but joan jett did the same thing by covering his song. although i guess people didnt know back then because he was arrested after she covered it.

So basically Gary Glitter does profit from this. That sucks. Too bad it can't be Joan Jett that profits, because Gwyneth did it in the style of Joan Jett. She even dressed like her.
This is the drawback of covering covers.
BTW, if they ever end up covering Elvis it's really technically the same thing. ALL of Elvis' songs are either covers or they were written by someone else. Elvis gets credit for putting his own style into them, and he gets a LOT of credit for that. That's why it makes mad when people hate on Glee for doing covers/not writing their own songs. Although after Original Song they can't really say that anymore. But they will anyways because haters gonna hate no matter what.

yea, it sucks gary glitter benefits. but it helps to think that the regular joes who work at the publishing company benefit from it as well. he doesnt get all the money.
its all about who wrote the song, not the version glee chooses to do. theres no copyright for joan jett to benefit from unless glee actually used her (and her record companies) recording that she made. but because its gwenyth and the glee kids singing and studio musicians re-recording the song, joan jett gets nada.

They are saying this performance might not be aired in the UK episode as the song is known more by Gary Glitter here than Joan Jett!

Apparently, they're gonna air it complete after all. I don't like the idea of benefitting GG, at it saddens me particularly that the song is included in the album. The option here is not to buy the song.
