At first I only watched this for QueenMaggieSmith but it is such a good programme. It's jsut brillaintly shot, pure escapism and great viewing.

yes... Maggie Smith is great but Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Brown Findlay are awesome too! Any of you have a Downton ship or favourite character?

Sybil's probably my favourite character. Actress wise, I think Michelle Dockery is very good and gets the best material.

Love it.
Soapy goodness with great characters and writing. In fact they have just as many primary and secondary characters as Glee and handle it fine. For the record I think Glee does too for the most part especially this season.

I might watch eventually.
If you like period dramas & stuff about rich people & big families, you'll like Downton Abbey xD

I loved season 1 --- that was some of the best stuff ever to be seen on television! Season 2 was a bit of let-down ... but I'll still watch season 3 ...

The christmas special was okay, though I did wonder why it was called "Christmas at Downton Abbey" when at least 90% of it were set on and around New Year's Eve ...

I love Mary/Matthew.
And the Christmas Special was named as such since it aired on Christmas 2011 in the UK.

Not really my kind of show, but I am just curious if anyone else saw the SNL spoof of it about a month ago. It was so funny.
