I thought it would be nice to have a thread for the people who already watched the movie (and for the future where we hopefully all be able to watch it), so they can discuss the movie without using spoiler bars in the main thread (or accidently spoilering people), or for the impatient people, who don't mind spoilers.

Of course the gushing and flailing and posting of pretty pictures from the premiere ect. in the main thread shall continue and everything. Maybe the spoilery articles/reviews could be discussed here instead? (I could even edit this post from time to time, so the reviews would be all listed here?)

Have fun!

Possible spoilers ahead!

I was fortunate enough to see the world premiere of SBL tonight.
When I arrived at the theater around 3:30 pm there were two lines - one for ticketholders and one for people without tickets hoping to get in (and that line was pretty dang long - I hope most of them were able to get in although they said it was a sold-out - I think they usually hold some tickets for a "rush" type of thing).

It was mostly females in line - but there were still plenty of men too of course and it was nice that they all weren't so young. At his New Yorker event it seemed like there were a lot more teens. When Chris arrived I heard a lot of comments about how gorgeous he is. But of course! We were fortunate enough to get a seat close to the front. When we went to the ladies room we saw Chris on the press red carpet. Back at our seats, we saw Ashley and Amber sitting next to each other in the first row of the second tier (we were at the front so couldn't see them too closely but they are of course easily identifiable). Chris and Brian came out to briefly speak to the audience and the film started around 6:10 and ended about 7:35 plus credits for about a 90 minute film.

I enjoyed all the performances - Christina Hendricks was one of my favorites and of course Chris was fantastic. It's very hard to know what to say without giving away too much. The film had a lot of funny lines but in a very cynical, sarcastic vein rather than a fun or lighthearted way. It was a little dark (nasty/cynical) and depressing for me because I like more lighthearted things but it doesn't mean I didn't thoroughly enjoy the film. There were a couple of things that happened near and at the end that were sad / depressing (although one thing you could see coming from an earlier scene). I'll just say I cried toward the end. Posted Image

Chris and Brian came out with the some of the cast and producers and answered questions for about 15 minutes - all the questions were for Chris except a couple which were answered by Brian and the producers and I'm sure the video will be up shortly if not already! I didn't even know that Emma Watson asked the last question until someone told me later.

Chris was great - he had a couple of big speeches. He was not like Kurt at all and you wouldn't even think of Kurt while watching this movie.

Well I feel like I'm rambling now and it's late. If anyone has any questions let me know.

I think it's a good idea to have a spoiler thread!

Here's the already existing Struck By Lightning thread in the Chris Colfer subforum: http://www.gleeforum...ebut-in-struck/

Wouldn't it be useful to move this thread to the Chris Colfer subforum, too? I never would have found it if it wasn't for the "recent topics" box on the main page, because I wouldn't go looking for a Struck By Lightning thread in the Klaine subforum (or any other Kurt-shipper subforum for that matter).

And maybe someone could add the spoiler warning to the name of the thread as well? :)

Yeah, but we are somehow a Chris/Darren appreciate thread too. So it is just logical for us to have opened our own subthread for SBL. Because not everyone here risks to leave our secure environment. ;)

I actually asked Stephanie if it's okay to do it, before I opened this thread. ^^

I get the sentiment, even though I don't share it. ;)

I just meant that this thread is kind of OT in this subforum, what makes it difficult to find for interested members who are no Klaine-shippers.
They might open another spoiler thread or continue posting with spoilerbars elsewhere, just because they don't know this thread already exists, hidden in a shipper-subforum. As a result of that either one will probably miss out on the other's contributions.

This thread has tags... everyone who searches for it, should be able to find it. I do understand what you mean, but there are several people here who never go into the Chris/Kurt thread (or the Darren/Blaine one), while being fans all the same. There are always people who go into both forums, so I don't think either side would miss much. Like I said, I asked if it would be OT here before opening the thread. It's not like the existence of this thread will prevent a SBL-thread in the Chris/Kurt section. ;) It's mainly for the people who have seen the movie and the ones who don't mind being spoilered.

Well I saw a screening of SBL yesterday at tribeca. I am of course biased but I loved every minute of it. There were more adults and men at this screening than young females and they all had a positive reaction to it too. The film was great, it was witty, sarcastic and heart-wrenching. I cried, I laughed I experienced every emotion possible. There was definitely a huge tear-jerker at the end. Allison Janney's acting as Carson's mom was amazing. Christina Hendricks and Sarah Hyland were all great too. Rebel wilson has great comic timing and was also great and perfect for the role. Chris' acting was amazing as usual and he was playing a character so different from Kurt. He definitely proved he can play characters other than Kurt. I was impressed and I give the film a 8/10. (This review was biased though I will always love everything Chris does).

*dusting this old thing off*

After reading the novel, I had to look for some penguin videos to cheer me up. It really made me cry in the end and I'm really curious how the funeral will look like in the movie now. (Come on, tell me when I'll be able to watch it universe!)

It didn't really read like a diary, but it was very enjoyable nontheless and I had to surpress many laughs in public.

It was very interesting to first see all the characters only from Carsons perspective and then get to know them a bit with time, too cause it makes you realize what an asshole Carson actually is (hell, there is someone who is actually friendly to him and Carson only sees him with disdain because the person is dumb) -even when you sympathize with him very much. Still, what happens to him in the end is just really heartbreaking, unfair and frustrating and I liked it.

The only person I wanted to strangle in the end were his parents, though. Wow, what a f*cked up family. ._.

Now I'm going to sit here and pretend Scott and Nick will marry one day and be happy, Malerie will write a bestseller one day, Remy getting into the school of her dreams... and basically that everyone gets to be happy in the end.

I CRIED FOR FOUR STRAIGHT HOURS AFTER I WAS DONE ;( ;( ;( It was so Sad

Carson was a really amazing and real character. He was witty and sarcastic and bitchy and so determined. I was rooting for him all the way so the ending really broke my heart. I loved all the other characters as well. Malerie was particularly my favorite. The fact that CHRIS wrote those words was such a mindfuck. Throughout the entire thing there were points where I put the book down and just had to process that Chris actually wrote this.
