Episode preview:
Coming off their victory over Vocal Adrenaline New Directions begins to think about the future.  Santana starts planning for what she will do next year while she waits for Brittany to finish high school.  While Rachel and Jessica butt heads over who will lead New Directions next year.  Also, Finn, still reeling from his last conversation with Jesse becomes insecure about his future when an ex shows him just how deceitful a girl can be.

Episode 3.16 “Waiting For An Opportunity”

Scene 1

Breadstix

We see a close up of Santana’s face.  She looks annoyed.

Santana (voiceover):  I can’t believe how much I completely hate my life right now.

The camera pans out and we see Santana in a Breadstixs waitress uniform.  The old blonde waitress we always see at Breadstixs walks by here.

Old Blonde Waitress:  Santana.  The couple at table 7 is asking for you.

Santana rolls her eyes and starts walking.

Santana (voiceover):  I can’t believe how much this job sucks.  This has been the worst week of my life.  I knew being a waitress is an awful job but even I couldn’t have imagined the crap I’d have to put up with this past week.

We then see a few random scenes of Santana’s first week at Breadstixs.  First we see her hand a table of four their food.  They then all swap plates right in front of her as she has mixed up their orders.  We then her walking with a tray of food.  She slips and falls right on her ass and the food goes everywhere.  We then see her walk past a booth with a tray of sodas.  As she walking past, someone reaches out and slaps the tray right out of her hands.  We then see it is Becky Jackson who is now laughing at Santana.

Santana (voiceover):  It’s been a humiliating week, but if it wasn’t bad enough, these two had to come in.

Santana then gets to the table and we see Finn and Rachel there having dinner.

Santana:  What do you guys want now?

Rachel:  Hello Santana, I apologize for the confusion before, but when I ordered my pasta I specifically asked for meat substitute.  I Thought this plate smelled like real ground beef so I asked Finn to try it for me and he confirmed that it’s real, not fake.

Santana:  Oh yeah, how would you know Lenny?

Finn:  Because when Rachel makes me try meat substitute it tastes really bad.  And this was ummm actually good.

Santana:  Look Rachel, I’m really busy here.  Can’t you just suck it up this one time?  Besides, you could use the protein.

Rachel:  Santana, you may not understand but I’ve chosen a very healthy and disciplined lifestyle, and as paying customer I believe I’m entitled to get what I ordered……….or you know, I could always ask to speak to the manager.

We see Finn’s eyes widen as he knows Rachel is treading into dangerous territory.  Santana now looks very angry.

Santana:  Okay fine, if that’s the way you want to play it I’ll get you your stupid fake meat.

Santana takes her plate and walks off.

Santana (voiceover):  God I’m going to kill that freaking gremlin.  I would slap her right now if I didn’t need this job.  I’m going to be stuck in this freaking town for another year with nothing to do.  I didn’t even think about it till last week.


Begin flashback:

Brittany and Santana are walking down the hallway together.

Brittany:  You know part of me is happy I get to spend another year here.  I do love it at McKinley.  I’m popular, now I’m smart and I get to be in New Directions for another year.

Santana (a little sarcastic):  I’m really happy for you Brit.

Brittany:  So what are you going to do next year?

Santana stops walking as has a look of confusion on her face as if she has no idea what she is going to do.

End Flashback


We now see Santana take Rachel’s new plate of food off of the counter and begin to head back to Rachel.

Santana (voiceover):  I had no idea what I’m going to do next year, and when me and Brit do move away next year it’s going to cost money.  Money we don’t have.  And with the economy still in shambles any job is hard to get let alone a good job.  So when I heard Breadstixs was hiring I jumped at the chance to work here.  I always loved this pace………..until I started working here and realized what a hellhole it really is.

Santana gets to Rachel and Finn’s table and puts her new plate of pasta down.

Santana:  Here.

Rachel:  Thank you Santana, this smells much more like what I’m used to.  Rachel but goes to take a bite but Santana says first.

Santana:  Go ahead Berry.  Eat it.  I dare you.

A concerned Rachel stops right before the food goes in her mouth.  She looks at Santana who has an evil smile.  Finn looks up and sees the evil smile as well.

Santana then walks away with a smirk on her face.  Rachel and Finn both put their forks down and push their plates to the center of the table.  Finn looks very upset.

Finn:  We can never eat here again.

I'd hate to see her as a secretary's assistant, she'll end up killing everyone, or she might like it.

I don't really think Santana is capable of any job where she is a subordinate... she doesn't take aorders very well..

Scene 2

Artie’s bedroom

Finn is sitting at the edge of Artie’s bed. Artie is in the chair next to him. They are playing Halo. There is an explosion.

Finn: Dammit, this Lima girl killed me again. This chick is insane.

Artie: She really seems to have some problem with you.

Finn: Oh hey, by the way I talked to Puck before I came here. I asked him if he wanted to come, he said no. He sounded kind of pissed. What is going on with you two?

Artie now seem slightly upset.

Artie: I don’t want to talk about it. Just let it go.

Finn: Dude, you can tell me. I can keep a secret.

Artie: No you can’t, none of us can. Everything always gets out.

Finn: Fine, but if you’re ever ready to talk…..

Artie: What I’m ready for is graduation so I can go to Princeton and move on with my life.

Finn now seems concerned.

Finn: But what about Nationals and all of us.

Artie: Don’t get me wrong, I want to win Nationals, and I am going to miss everyone, but my senior year really isn’t turning out how I expected. First, everything with Jessica and there’s been other stuff.

Finn: I thought you and Jessica were okay, and what other stuff?

Artie: I am good with Jessica, but what happened still sucks, and I don’t want to talk about the other stuff. My point is I think it’s just time for me to move on with my life.

Finn thinks about it for a second.

Finn: Does this have something to do with Quinn? I thought you weren’t into her?

Artie now looks a little sad.

Artie: I said I didn’t want to talk about it, and watch your backside

Just then there is another loud explosion as Finn is killed again. This cheers Artie up as he laughs a little as Finn rolls his eyes.

Finn: What did I ever do to this girl?

End Scene 2

I've been building this for a while, so it should be fairly obvious who it is. But we will know for sure soon.

Scene 3

Fabray house.

There is a knock at the door. Judy goes over to answer it. Rachel is there.

Rachel: Hello Ms. Fabray.

Judy: Hello Rachel, you look lovely today.

Rachel: That’s so nice of you.

Judy: Are you here to see Quinn.

Rachel: Yeah, I came to pick her up. We’re meeting some friends at the Lima Bean.

Judy: She’s upstairs in her room. Go on up.

Rachel: Thank you.

Rachel heads up stairs. She hears loud noises coming from Quinn’s room, Rachel seems confused. She knocks on the door and there is no answer. We then see the inside of Quinn’s room. She is sitting on her bed playing Halo as well. There is a loud explosions and see laughs as she says to herself…..

Quinn: God Finn, you are so bad at this.

We the see Rachel on the other side of the door. She knocks again but there is no answer. She then opens the door and sees Quinn playing a video game. Rachel looks a little shocked as an embarrassed Quinn jumps up and turns off her TV.

Quinn: Rachel!

Rachel: I’m sorry Quinn, I knocked but you didn’t answer.

Quinn: I’m sorry I must have lost track of time.

Rachel: Quinn, were you just playing a video game?

Quinn now seems nervous but tries to play it off.

Quinn: You caught me. I play video games sometimes to relieve stress. I think guys are onto something. There’s something therapeutic about blowing stuff up.

Rachel looks at Quinn like she is crazy.

Rachel: Okaaaaaaaaaaay.

Quinn: Look Rachel, this is kind of embarrassing. Can you please not tell anyone about this?

Rachel: Sure, but it’s not really that big of deal. I don’t think anyone would care. Finn and the guys are playing those things all the time. I even think he’s at Artie’s house right now playing.

Quinn: Maybe you’re right, but I just have a certain image I would like to uphold.

Rachel: If you say so.

Quinn: We should go.

Quinn grabs her purse and walks past Rachel. Rachel has a look on her face that she isn’t really sure what just happened.

End Scene 3

I didn't know Quinn was that girl, but now that I know who she was, it was a bit obvious

Risk, great start to another episode. The Santana scene was perfect. Of course Rachel is the customer from hell, of course they screw up HER order, of course Santana can't deal with it. Perfect..Perfect..Perfect.

Now that we know Quinn is the Limagirl, will Artie find out soon?

I thought it was Quinn since about Christmas time, but I was sure LAA stood for something, I even at one point thought it meant Lauren Anna Anderson or something. Stupid L A A, but then I took it apart and realised the AA bit, and bit self explanatory. Irnonically AA is Autocar Association in Britain.

I'm just amused by the fact that Finn sucks at it. But seriously, Halo is a tough tough game. It moves fast. I'm more of a call of duty guy myself, which we also know Finn plays.

Yeah I really set this up in episode way back in episdode 7 when Artie and Quinn talk after he finds out she has feelings for him. When he is explaining how they are too different he uses his obsession with Halo as an example.

Santana as a waitress is hilarious. And I love it that Quinn is using Halo to beat up on Finn as well as to connect with Artie.

Thanks Minx, Her main motive is to connect with Artie, but killing Finn was just a fun bonus.

I would have Loled so hard if it had been Loves Alcoholic Anonymous, that would have been the best plot twist ever, not to mention perhaps the funniest. Perhaps not Quinn as LimaGirl, but maybe Brenda Castle? That would have made me cry!

I am going to try and get a scene up tonight. Just not in the mood to dive into my own glee AR right now. Still reeling from last nights episode.
