#2507935 Season 4 General Spoiler Discussion - CLOSED 5/9/2013

There doesn't seem to be any specific details when SJP returns and we still don't know about any superior/bosses other then her. At some point it seemed she was going to be Kurt's "mentor" but not necessarily his boss, so I'm confused if they are going to introduce another management person at Vogue for Kurt to interact with. The guy who was nice to him re: Blaine flowers could or could not be the "hunky businessman" that was spoiled a few weeks back.

Still guessing if Kurt is going to stay in fashion or segue to Broadway/NYADA.

I could see Kurt combining fashion with Broadway by going into costume design. That would put him in the Broadway world and perhaps give him more chances to sing.

I just want to see more of NY because that's been really interesting so far, while the McKinely plots have been the ones that need more excitement IMO.

In your opinion.

Obviously. You don't need to state that every time you disagree. We are all expressing opinions.

They haven't had much screentime or an A plot yet either. Give them a chance!

I think they've has a lot of screen time, I've never seen this much of characters without being interested and then had them start to excite me.

I was just going to say this when I read the spoiler. E! online actually told us something new. Very rarely does that happen. Regarding people not finding the newbies as interesting as the original cast -well, add up to 70 appearances for characters like Rachel or 42 appearances for Sam to 4 appearances of Jake and Marley (which one was basically a cameo) -I'm not surprised. Of course, that is giong to happen because you are invested in those characters. But when people say they aren't invested in the newbie characters -I just chalk it up to just not knowing them. A season later that may change but to say it NOW -well, I think it is just people resistant to any change of direction. People really need to give these characters more of a chance -since these are going to be the leads at McKinley next year. It's kind of early, after only 4 episodes, to already be making decisions when you don't even know them. Hard to believe that next season at this time -Sugar, if she is a junior this year, and Joe -WILL be the longest running members of New Directions on the show. Every single character from the first 2 years will have graduated -with most of those actors put on a recurring basis or the occasional guest star. If people are having problems adjusting this year -they are going to have a more difficult time next season. The show has set up a revolving door with characters after the originals graduated. I'm expecting 3 or 4 new characters next year at McKinley to replace the departing graduates this year. And I'm fine with that -as a teacher, myself. I've seen students come and go, it's a realistic part of life. My favorite part of "The Break Up" -which is hard to watch on repeated viewings -was when FInn came back to the choir room and he watched the ND members from the sidelines. It was like looking at his past when being a teenager in High School wasn't as complicated as his young adult life. And I really appreciate the producers being brave enough to show that. I think any adult can relate to that moment.

The original characters had to win fans over from the very beginning.

#2507374 Can we just applaud Rachel?

Major growth for Rachel. She doesn't just deserve applause, she deserves a standing ovation.

#2502329 Rate "The Break-Up" and Official Episode Discussion Thread

Posted by PuckzillaWins on 05 October 2012 - 07:17 AM

In all the kerfuffle over my favourite character's self destruction, I forgot the newbies were even in it.

Probably because their storyline was dumb and boring with mediocre acting. Especially when put in such stark contrast to the returning grads like Cory and Naya, the new kids just have no idea how to steal a scene. Was it meant to be funny? The rapture stuff? Because I thought it was stupid.

That was my reaction. I didn't laugh or anything I just cringed at the stupidity. But that was my only criticism of the episode. The rest of the episode was so good. I just wished instead of using time for than stupid sub-plot they gave that time to the others for even more development.

14. The Scientist
19. Give Your Heart a Break
26. Mine
27. Teenage Dream
31. Don't Speak
40. Barely Breathing

Don't get me wrong, I really really liked GYHAB but it's crazy that it's doing better than Mine and Teenage Dream

I enjoyed GYHAB more than either Mine or Teenage Dream so I'm not surprised.

#2493839 Give Your Heart a Break (performance preview)

I was worried they'd use this song to make Rachel to look bad. I'm happy it looks like Finn didn't come to the bar with them and Rachel refused to let that ruin her night. Rachel Berry won't miss the chance to perform because of a guy.

Actually most of the new characters are pretty dull to me with few exceptions.

I'm really excited to see Rachel's off-Broadway audition and with the idea that we'll see her in an acting class.

After 2 weeks of songs IMO it's a mistake to make Marley the female lead in Ohio over Tina.

I thought I was going to really like Melissa's voice but I've ended up being underwhelmed by it. :(

Why did I bother making sure I was online for that. That was a half hour completely wasted.
