#3551160 Your Random Glee Opinions

Posted by Ironic Showchoir on 02 November 2015 - 10:31 AM

To the people here a while ago who were forming there opinions based on "how much hate characters get on GATC"...  Here is a perfect example of white kind of blog CATC is.  Not representative for the Glee fandom at all. They post all the homophobic and sexist shit that comes at them:

As a Scotsman I am offended by both the sentiment of this opinion and the view that Kurt is wearing a skirt - don't people know what a fuckin kilt looks like.

I would love to see the originator of this opinion try to explain to one of the tartan army that he was wearing a skirt - would end up with a smack in the mouth for his cheek.

She was funny , she looked great and it was still new.

Also found it amusing how taken the crowd was with Lea.   Some knew her from SA but she was clearly the break out.

Part 1 or 5 here:  https://youtu.be/fGCn10d7Uks

part 3 is particularly fun.,

Ahh good times. I haven't watched this in years.

#3493295 Rank the Glee seasons!

Season 1         Enjoyed the coherent scripts and music. Characterisations made sense.

Season 2         Some great individual episodes but lacked a Season arc. Only downside was the introduction of a split narrative which I didn’t care for (I have still to watch any of the Dalton side).

Season 3         My enjoyment of the show began to diminish during the season. Characterisations became less consistent.

Season 6         Had its moments but too much crammed into too few episodes.  Have still to watch 6 episodes in the middle but have already seen enough to prefer it over S5 & 4.

Season 5         Writing was all over the place but there were a few standout moments.

Season 4         Disliked most of what I saw of (in both locations) with a passion. I eventually stopped watching about halfway through Dynamic Duets and did not return (I may get round to watching at some point though). I decided to return to the show after the tragic events that summer.

#3312958 Rank the seasons

Posted by Ironic Showchoir on 15 August 2014 - 03:55 AM

Season 1 There wasn't much I didn't like about this season. Enjoyed the more coherent plots/writing. I also preferred the lower number of songs per episode and the actual song selection. 10/10

Season 2 A number of really good individual episodes but lacked a coherent overarching season arc. Would have scored 9/10 but I did not care for (or for the most part watch) any of the Dalton side. 7.5/10

Season 3 7/10

Season 5 Had a few good moments/episodes in New York but overall it was pretty poor. 4/10

Season 4 Switched off part way through Dynamic Duets and did not return until Season 5. 0/10

That was..wonderful. I wonder what other gems Glee has hidden away in the archives.

#3070504 Rank the Episodes of Season 5

Posted by Ironic Showchoir on 12 December 2013 - 09:02 AM

1 Previously Unaired Christmas A
2 - 6 The Rest F (Have switched off at least 4 episodes before the end due to boredom or apathy)

Apart from PUC (and the QB) which were perfect, I am not enjoying this season at all. Hopefully things will pick up for me next year. (Just when I was ready to drop the show PUC pulled me back in).

#3064248 Did you like the Black and White PBS show?

Posted by Ironic Showchoir on 07 December 2013 - 05:07 AM

You can't just film some musical numbers in black and white and call it satire. And you can't just steal someone else's material and call it an homage. Well, I guess Glee can.

Can't agree with this point at all - the black and white material is, for me at least, a perfect example of homage.

I miss the days when not every other post on this forum contained expressions like "This was offensive." or "I feel offended." or something similar. Is this a virus making its rounds, being ouraged about just about everything? It certainly can't be good for people's mental or physical health...

All of this - I personally find scenes entertaining, or not. I have never been even remotely offended by anything shown on Glee.

Watching Glee then reading this forum introduced me to the concept of shipping for the first time - 5 years later and I still don't get it????

#3063300 Previously Unaired Christmas Vs. Glee, Actually

Posted by Ironic Showchoir on 06 December 2013 - 11:43 AM

Previously Unaired Christmas by a LONG way, I remember being SO disappointed with Glee Actually, it had a few cute bits in it but I thought the Burt storyline was bleak, the Puck and Jake part was boring and I didn't like many of the songs.

PUC was so entertaining, absolutely loved it, the songs and performances were better, it was really funny and it still had the heartwarming Glee ending with Away In A Manger, I thought it was great.

I was about to write something myself but I'll just quote this post instead as it captures my thinking exactly.

#3062955 Rate "Previously Unaired Christmas" and Official Episode Discussion T...

Posted by Ironic Showchoir on 06 December 2013 - 06:52 AM

I have not been enjoying Glee at all this year so I seriously considered not watching - I'm so glad I did as this was the most entertainment the show has given me in over a year.

My highest rating for an episode in Season 5 so far has been 'Bad' but this episode broke the trend and I give it a resounding vote of one of the best episodes ever.

Can I have more of this show please...

I think its going to start haunting me in my dreams!  Excellent job from you, you'll get them on that podium!

This is nothing compared to my group of friends (4) who have between 50 - 100K votes each :o . I thought my target was hard enough so I have no idea how they managed it.

I finally made my annual 25K target each for Lea and Chris late last night - I never want to see that facebook voting screen again.

#2932347 Character Popularity Among Different Age Groups

I'm too old to fit into a category but my choices would be Rachel, Kurt, Santana and Will. (I'm 47 and really hope I am not the only member in the old codger group).
