I'm really obsessing over which one of them will wind up singing lead vocals on this. I really want to hear Lea sing the song, but I want to see Kurt (the character, I mean) perform it... perhaps Kurt will sing it on the show, and Lea will maybe record it herself? That sounds ideal to me.

Then again, maybe they'll do it as a duet instead of one of them just singing Glinda's part?

He mentions that DG is in episode 8, then later, the interviewer asks if they can request songs, and he mentions that he was complaining about not being able to sing DG in high school, and then it got written in.

This is only an assumption on my part, but if he was the one who got it written in, and was obviously the one who wanted to sing it, there's a good chance he's got lead vocals. It might even be half and half, as Tiggy suggested earlier in the thread, though I personally hope Lea gets Glinda's part and Chris gets Elphaba. Honestly, it would be awesome.

My thoughts exactly. It was Chris's real life story that made Ryan put it in the show, it's Chris who's been dying for the chance to sing this song for years, and it's Chris who is the only main cast member who hasn't had a single solo part since his audition in the pilot.

I love Lea/Rachel and I love her voice, but if she gets lead vocals on this and overshadows Chris/Kurt as well as the significance of the song in relation to his life, I will be enormously enraged and inconsolably heartbroken for him.

Not even exaggerating here. I'll be GUTTED. So much so that it would probably impact the way I feel about the show as a whole.

Regardless, though, I'm sure the song will be gorgeous. Very excited to see it.

P.S. Any news on whether this is the episode where Kurt gives Rachel a makeover? laugh.gif

Just for the record, the reason I want Rachel to sing it is because I actually want to hear how Lea would sound singing it. I'm all for hearing Kurt sing it on the show/getting solos!
