I saw in interview where Chris(Kurt) said something about how he had been having a rant one day about not being allowed to sing Defying Gravity when he was in high school, and then Ryan Murphy put it in the next script for him to sing it.

I'm not sure why he wasn't allowed to sing it though? Maybe someone else can elaborate on that?

It's not illegal, lol. That made me giggle hard.

He said in an interview that it's a girl song, and he's a boy, and that's the main reason his school's drama department wouldn't let him near it. I'm wishing I had kept the google alert for that article, so I could link it. It's not really SAD, just a bit disheartening. Either way, it's good his school denied him. Instead of singing it in front of maybe like 300 people, he gets to sing it on national tv in front of 7 million people!

You're right. Half the cast calls Showmance episode one, when in reality the pilot is. But I'm hoping Chris got it right.

Well, most TV shows don't consider their pilots part of the actual season, they're just testing the waters. That's why there's usually a large number of plotholes between the pilot and the season premiere.
