DC TOUR WRITE-UP!

My god, It was such a great day. I got to the screening at about 9:30, and they were just handing out tickets to the screening. I got in almost immediately and met up with Barbara (BwayBabs) and her friend Sam. Rob showed up after a little while too. There were only like 20 people there, seeing as they didn’t advertise it too much. But Showmance was a RIOT. We were laughing the entire time. It was fantastic! I can safely say it was better than the Pilot.

Afterwards, we drove to the mall itself. Barbara and I ate at Sbarro’s and just kinda hung out at Hot Topic. The staff was nice; we could tell they were just as bubbling with excitement as we were. We met up with Sam and Rob and wandered around the mall until it came time to line up. There was already a line forming at like, 2:00, and they closed Hot Topic around 2:30 to set everything up. Rob and I got in with our press passes, so we were there when they came in.

They really are the sweetest people ever. We got to talk a lot to Jenna, Amber, and Chris. They’re so laid back and down-to-earth, you wouldn’t be able to tell they were famous. Amber actually recognized Rob from gleefan.com, which was cute. I got that little exchange on camera. I interviewed Lea, Chris, and Mark, while Rob interviewed Cory and Amber. I’m make a compilation at the moment.

So they signed autographs for a solid two and a half hours, only stopping for minutes at a time to get Auntie Anne’s and stuff. Rob and I went in and out, filmed a few gleeks, and got Icees. They were willing to sign practically anything we gave them, which was cool. Some girl gave Cory underwear. That was awkward.

Afterwards, the staff of Hot Topic and the press people got pictures with them. Then they all went down to the big open part of the mall to do a Q&A. It was kinda lame – just the same 5 questions we hear everywhere: how do you relate to your characters, what was the audition process like, etc. Someone asked about Lea and Jon Groff getting married, and the entire cast laughed. She looked a bit embarrassed and was like, “I dunno, I hope!” Haha.

But yeah, it was a fantastic day. It makes me sad they don’t come here more often. I’ll have TONS of video and stuff to post once I get it all edited.

I'll take raw video. Geez I've already sat through the King of Prussia one enough for my ears to bleed from the high pitch screaming.

I like her Blue Wind especially considering it was off the cuff in a mall. She may have sung it becasue it was easier without warmups and stuff. I thought it was sweet to give the song credit to Jenna.
